Claerwen Gillespie

Having been brought up by a professional potter I have always worked in ceramics. I have always described what I do as ceramic illustration, drawing from story, theatre, song, literature, and my environment on the small farm where I live.

Until recent years my work has been sculptural, but now I have discovered the joys of throwing, and the traditional sgraffito and slip techniques of North Devon allow me to continue illustrating on my pots.
