Alon Gershtein
I am a print maker based in Devon, with a background in illustration and animation. I like to explore different styles and techniques and a variety of subjects, which can make my work quite hectic.
I draw inspiration from nature, fantasy, music, nostalgia, folklore and humour.
I like to create images that tell stories, but also sometimes I am just fascinated by the visual of an object.
I don’t like to spend a lot of time creating drafts for my prints, and I’m eager to start working on the surface with a sense of spontaneity. So I try to incorporate the mistakes and imperfections in my work and enjoy the unexpected outcomes. I like the element of surprise in printmaking, the uncertainty of how my work is going to turn out until the print is revealed.
